Some of them lath ceilings can be 15mm or more, you'll end using 15mm boards and probably need to rip the lath off and do a bit of framing. This is not the way to do a living room ceiling.It's still gonna be a pig of a job ,now's the time to tell your mate , your shoulders playing up .

Wouldn't mind you prob could of got a 6mm contour board over that an still had a bit of a lip on coving fuk pulling all that down
