I plastered a ceiling today (3x4m) over artex( house is around 15 years old)I gave the ceiling 3good coats of pva and put a couple of handfuls of bonding in the first mix as I always do.I got about halfway across and realised it was going off so I got the rest on and with plenty of water on my brush I managed to get it under control and flat enough for the second coat.I then gave it three more coats of pva and added an extra time sachet to the second mix, started spreading and f..k me off it started going again. Anyway I got it done as it wasn’t a big ceiling but the customer wants the lounge done and that is a big beast.I’ve been plastering for over 30 years and have always managed to get the suction under control but I fear the lounge ceiling is gonna beat me and at 52 I’ll probably let it.Has anyone got a solution other than re boarding or getting another half dozen spreads in for relay race?
