Artex swirl

Got four ceilings to do Artex swirl just a question is it best caulking the scrim out the day before artexing thanks

I do mate then go over the ceilings with artex sealer let dry then pattern else you try going over tapes next day with no sealer will dry to quick before you can pattern ,Dulux decorating sell artex sealer

chap I worked with couple of years ago would skim the ceiling. flatten it twice. pva and artex all same day

I used to do the same with one tight coat of skim but next day use Artex sealer 1:1 leave for an hour then Artex. You can also caulk out with thick mix of Artex then leave for an hour or so then Artex, this is all on the boards same day.

tapes got to be dry, or you;ll pull them down with the weight of the Artex mate... seal next day and go into the original pattern about 2ft... blend in ok then, and keep the pattern staggered as you blend in that way you wont get too much a noticeabline line...
