I did a class room 1 last year. Like everything else health and safety based its just covering yourself so you can't be sued.

i.e You go to price over skim artex ceiling. Ask Mrs Smith how long ago was it artexed, She tells you as long as she can remember. You then have to tell her she needs a sample taken and tested at a cost to her around £250 for a specialist.

She will just laugh at you and get someone else in.

Even over-boarding a artex ceiling is illegal.
any links?

There was something on here a while back which said it was the biggest con this government had made up (something along them lines with a link).

We got some circa 1990s vinyl floor tested last week, cost £125 got the results back within 12 hours, customer wasnt made up like but better safe than sorry, paid £90 for a days course 2 years ago, lasted 12 months which I think is wank!

did one online 3/4 week ago,30 quid about hour nd half worth it to cover myself and customers, just if im liable in the future!!
who knows whats claimable

just do an online course classroom is over priced and plus if you see something you think is asbestos get the fudge outta dodge and get some1 else in to look at it

i paid 30 or somet like that but i did it in my oxers after work one day.......... could you imagine going to a class room getting a brew taking your trousers off then sitting in for your lesson? dont think that would work some how and plus its all bollox it should be safe before it gets to our stage in refurb if thats what your line of work is

no i dont but online has to be cheaper and not only that but you get your certificate onto computer so if you lose it like i did you can just print it off
