started using artex 1985 ,had red stamp on bags stating asbestos free this was on artex and decortex.but i never used other brands so dont know if they were.as i remember i heard somewhere that it used to contain 3%asbestos in old artex,the goverment tried to licence its removal[artex]then done a uturn afew years back.proberly thought it was more important to introduce the cscs card and get a revenue coming in than worry about artex in most houses and letting people know for sure whats what........

Went on a asbestos health and safety course on friday afternoon,tell you what that assy is in just about everything,one thing for sure it is in artex its the white stuff (not as bad as the brown and blue) but its still bad stuff,they reckon 20 tradesmen a week are dying from it,they gave some statistics and the worst trade were the chippys,should have seen our chippys face.....bad stuff lads so be carefull.
