At what stage to use sponge float during set

if u get a good finish using a sponge then use one..if u don't then don't...personaly never seen the need as your makin more work for yourself...it just livens the set back up and u do what u do anyway after that as u would without one (wet t, dry t)....i tryed it once yonks back and it left a grainy finish, but then i've seen guys usin em and gettin a really nice finish, so whatever u do thats your way of doin it so never mind what anyone else thinks...
 
lay it in flaten leave it and i mean leave it sponge it 2 trowels job done
i was taught to plaster in 1987 just getting inti the sponge
so i am not a five day wonder
 
Alright spunky. What sponge you using. I wanna give the method a try. On reskims at the moment but got a house starting next week all dab n skim. I'm a spat and plazzi man myself but curios bout this method.

Think I'm gonna stick to what I know and give sponging a miss.

Tell you what tho....if you want to p1ss decorators off, rub over your whole wall with a dry sponge ten minutes after you've crossed or finished, and it comes up shinier than glass....
 
jacko if you want to just try the sponging mate i use a wickes spongefloat works a treat for me
