i normally just wrap some 4inch scrim round the angle first then normal skim bead ontop of that then scrim down the wings ive been doin this for years without any cracks
 
Nothing wrong with that, madmonk.I think the problem here with timber laths cracking is that lads expect the bead to stop it cracking ,when it doesnt even cover the timber.covering the timber isnt enough,its got to overlap back onto the wall 50mm.Basic rule if the timber isnt covered properly it will crack.
 
I just use a float bead, with a bit of whatever undercoat plaster I have to hand dabbed into it, then skim the fuka!:RpS_thumbup:
 
For **** sake take it out it takes two minutes rarely makes a mess and they come out in one if you prise them out bit of bonding to bed your skim bead on guaranteeeeeeeeeeeeeed it aint gonna crack. Wood moves all year round so if it dont crack after a few weeks it can still crack in the future.
