Best plasterer in UK

Yea I done it when I was an apprentice, my college chose me to enter, can guess who won?

I failed miserably
:ROFLMAO:
We all took the pish mercilessly out of the lad in our college class who got chosen. Funny thing is by the time he was 25 he had put his tools away permanently.

I think they have competitions like this in USA but, based on practical skills.
They are given a set of drawings and just enough materials to complete the task and then a set time to complete the task.
Used to happen here years ago but usually last year apprentice's.
That’s the generation game

Yeah, every time he picked up a trowel, he probably kept getting emotionally-traumatic flashbacks of you lot stood around him, mercilessly taking the pish!

Could not make this up,about 3 weeks ago I done a couple of ceilings in a house, once I started the guy says I used to know a plasterer with same name as you.i said right.
He then says the guy got on train stop after me when he went to college.tells me train station, tells me college, tells me he was a plasterer. I'm now sweating. f**k me he was in my class in college,I now recognise him. Wtf.
He tells me he was apprentice of the year in Scotland. That was 37 years ago. He left plastering when he was 22 years old. Said he didn't enjoy it.
He now looks after apprentices in their training.
Day 2 I brought old college photos I had,he had none. Had a good laugh, showed his kids photos our class.

Anyone ever wonder who is the best UK plasterer?

Shame there is not a nationwide competition...

Lots of things that could be judged

speed
quality of finish
attention to detail

etc
Ronie o sullivan I think he's got quality speed finish and he's left rhight handed you should see him skim a ceiling it like billiards table!

Ffs not another one!
Sorry jess but you’re definitely out, I’m afraid no decent spread would have to be in work on a Sunday.
I actually deserve a medal for how lovely jubbly I am to get up on a Sunday and fix stuff so people can put their kitchens in!

..... but I’ll make do with a bacon butty #porkslag

Tell them to wait until Monday! Smells of desperation working on a Sunday.unless its for family or best friends

Literally cannot get my head around somebody working on a Sunday, there's absolutely no excuse for it
Y that m8. Everybody circumstances are difrent. You could be off during week becouse of family commitment. I work Sunday in winter becouse of rain in the week and I take advantage of every dry day this time of year. If your self employed and good ther no rest for the wicked.

Cmon if my kids need summat doing on a sun il do it,I may have over stepped the mark with friends
Yep, I’d work on my birthday or Christmas Day for my kids. But they definitely wouldn’t ask me too, they love me far too much! Lol.

The question isn’t who’s the best spread or whether or not you should or shouldn’t work on a Sunday ..... the real question is:

If @Cockney1 and @Kinkyboy stood side by side..... who could piss the furthest while creating the biggest shadow? :ROFLMAO:
You’d beat the pair of us! Your arse would definitely create the biggest shadow and I’ve heard your cocks massive.:crying:

£120 a day hahahaha is that what carys charges? @caryYou don't work for that do you hahahaha?

Well as ive stated numerous times jess, theres not much change out of 10 inches on mine so I win hands down

Sorry to burst your bubble, but most plasterers (even Jess) consider 13" a bare minimum, as standard. Some have longer ones (mostly flexible) but the stiff ones tend to be somewhere around 13"-16".

With a name like Kinkyboy, I'd have thought you'd know all this.

Algeeman generally has an 18", but I can't help wondering if that's just a prosthesis.
