Better work on a couple of hours to make up for the time you are going to waste going to that then.

So spankster whats the crack with how fat you are...................:RpS_thumbup:

Can we gather that as you aren't saying much about it that it was a complete waste of time?

What sort of fee were they asking to join ?

100 joining fee, £450 annually.

got 2 jobs/ referrals one with a lady who her husband is an architect and another with a mortgage broker.

going to go again as a guest..

This group in particular has 40 odd members and has the highest referrals per annum in the region.

just had to do a 60 second speech to tell them about me, my business and my experience, chat to a few people and have a breaky..

was a bit apprehensive at first to wether I will be able to hand out at least one referral but next time I will hand out 3 probably..

it makes it easy because people specify what lead/referral they want..

Will see what it's like next time and make a decision to wether to join or not..

Worth a try men

No mate quite the opposite tbh, there is an insurance company, air con, builder, architects wife, mortgage broker, plumber etc etc a lot that are potentially linked to what I want..

Next time I will be asking for and introduction to property developers, surveyors, insurance work..

Hmm, I was asked many times to go to my local BNI and I accepted the offer. Hmmmmm, interesting experience one thing is you pretty much lose Friday so you can write off that day work wise and use it to quote and invoice do banking etc etc, on my visit I got 2 referals, I chased them up during the week and didn't get a reply. One builder promised me all his plastering work IF I joined up (He was chief poobah or whatever they are though!) Not for me to be honest, too much bu"£$it and back patting. also it was 650 per year at the local BNI and 10 for breaky every week, that alone is over 1k a year plus you lose a day working on the tools.

That's not bad I went a a guest once they wanted over 1k upfront . a bit too pushy for me. Spoke to a plumber who said it was shite , but that's not to say it doesnt works for the majority of people . Good look mate

£1k!!! Fckin hell! This one you can pay instalments, £10 for breaky every week, yeah I didn't get on site in Liverpool till gone 10 and finished at 6pm on a Friday!! :-0 But as I say it's worth a try and I will hold judgement till next time..

Just make sure you can brainstorm, touch base with platform athiests, and be kept in the loop about the holistic cradle-to-grave approach from the get go.

ensuring your can facilitate future customer focused Strategies & Initiatives by thinking outside the box. making sure you have the flexibility & Capability to deliver an end product...............:RpS_thumbup:

Can somebody explain what this BNI is about thankyou please?! Is it like a rated people but with bacon butties?

It's basically a group that helps each other find work, like having 20-30 salesman promoting your business.

Its a group of people from various job backgrounds that meet up once a week and help each other with work. i.e accountant, builder, web designer etc. their is normal on one person from any trade background, so in an ideal world a surveyor would give a builder some work and he would use the plasterer from the group and everyone would use the accountant from the group. normally there is a yearly subscription fee and a fee every week for the breakfast meeting

thats the theory.........and thats why i think its shite having to recommend other people who you dont know

But you will get to know them over the months and will find out if they are any good before you start giving them any. The same would happen with you if you joined.

it might be worth just going as a guest and you might get a couple of contacts for the price of the breakfast.............:RpS_thumbup:

Defiantly, a free breakfast and your business cards passed out with a 60 second slot to sell yourself and your business. Free

yeah i can do all this in the pub on a friday night :RpS_thumbup:

you go on the lash with accountants............bet the night ends in carnage........:rolleyes)

Years ago i knew peep,s who swore that going to church every sunday got them over 50% of their work and the kind of work that they knew they would be the only person quoting if u know wot i mean.

Yeah normally what happens is we start off with a sophisticated beverage and then before you know it we're screaming "45X87 EQUALS WHAT WHAT HMMMMMMM?????" in each others faces and puking on the plumbers. Crazy

Hiring the room, marketing bill, to the fat cat that started it up..

worth a go Rossi, as I say one of the referrals is from an architects wife in his house..

you can go as a guest 2 or 3 times I think..

all you have to do is give a referral there's is nothing concrete about it, essentially just a warm lead..

there is an aspestos guy there so again an easy referral for us plasterers..

have you been before Stu?

The 60 seconds was a piece of piss, I forgot I was going Friday morning, it took me 5 minutes to write a couple of things down about my business, everyone is very approachable and ready and whiling to do business
