Board finish

The only differance, ive noticed is that board finish goes of a bit quicker. handy in cold temps.

Not realy mate only you have to sponge one coat or MP 75 what ever you want to call it but Multi you dont, end of.

The reason is that gypsum plaster replaced lime plaster which was breathable and gypsum is not naturally breathable and if not done properly you could have problems with mould etc after time. The reason for 2 coats is that you apply one coat and when it is about to go off you apply the second coat. As the first coat is drying the drying out process makes the second coat porous and more breathable and the trowel can give a smooth finish without glazing the plaster. If the plaster is glazed you will have problems.

So Brendan would you like to start again on you're experiences of one coat plaster you tosser

I had wondered about your name.

If you read the posts you would know i only do lime
plastering and also on that thread if you read it you would see what architects have written about moulds etc. Perhaps you are more qualified than architects to speak on such matters but somehow I doubt it. You certainly know jack s"""t about lime plastering.

The going rate for skimming was 20 Euros during the boom.

Brendan it was a draft around velux windows third post in youre slagging the plasterer off and blaming him .......then you're telling me it was because it was one coated .....I await you're reply lol

You must be blind as well.

Otherwise you would see that there was not even one coat on because there is a gap between the velux and where the plaster ends that a mouse could get in.

What if it was tape jointed mate?

A funny question for someone claiming to be a plasterer????. Over here we always put a tape where a plaster board meets timber or PVC.

I have to log out now but I will be back again tomorrow evening. Good night all

And a pleasant evening to you. I am quiet healthy and thank you for your concern. I just had a nice stake with onions mushrooms and mashed potatoes after a pleasant day at work.

You sold that well mate .........it covers plaster in fat lol

from the knauf web site

Application method

Before starting to spray Knauf MP75,

make sure all beads are cut and bedded

in using Knauf MP75. Ensure that all wall

areas are clean and dry, and add pretreatment

if required.

Spray Knauf MP75 in overlapping

bands at the desired thickness (usually

11-13mm and up to 20mm) and then

use an aluminium feather edge to rule

the plaster flat.

Once flat, leave Knauf MP75 for

approximately 75 minutes to allow for

the initial set to take place.

The initial set time may vary depending on the level

of suction from the background.

After the initial set, use a small

aluminium feather edge to apply a

second rule and to remove any

imperfections from the surface.

Now leave the plaster for approximately

20 minutes more or use the “Touch Testâ€￾

– touch the plaster surface to check it

does not stick to your fingers and resists

finger print impressions.

Using a spatula, open the surface to
Using water and a sponge float, bring

the of the plaster to the surface.

Leave for a further 10-20 minutes or use

the “Touch Testâ€￾ again.

Using a quality steel trowel, push the

plaster FATS back into the plaster to give

that all important hard and smooth finish.

See it is called FAT :RpS_biggrin:
