When mixing bonding and skim for going over artex, how much bonding to skim do you add to cover a heavy artex say 8mm?

Is 50/50 too much? then a normal skim mix for 2nd coat?

Will the top coat bubble like when skimming bonding to early?
 
The fella wont have it boarded worried about loosing height!

Only a little ceiling 12m, I would always normally overboard but this guy just wont have it, Hes a friend of a friend so dont really want to upset him.

60/40 skim/bonding. More skim in it the better to finish second coat. It will flash set so get the second coat on first sign it's starting to take up.
