Had a proper G** week this week.

Thought fook it totaly exhausted both mentally & physically.

Monday thought i was going to faint with stress/anxiaty somehow finished work for day.

Thought right rest of week im guna start late and get a proper cafe breakfast and take it easy and only do 1 decent gauge a day all week and even took a kettle for a brew whilst working.

Foook me what a difference even been doing a school drop off and not started work until 9am proper G**

Not sure i will be able to do it every week as most of our work is time sensative but wow would feel great!

Sounds like you’re pushing too hard mate. You might not get the chance to slow down if you don’t start looking after yourself.
Don’t be so G** and be more G**

It doesn't take much to make a big difference. Yesterday I went in late, didn't get there until after 09:00 as I didn't have to get a brew ready for @Nisus . Made a list, did some running around for materials etc, proper lazy faffing around day and back home for 14:00.

Today I went in at the usual time, and got an absolute sh1t load done without rushing or pushing.

A little "Fcuk work" break now and again is good for the soul and your productivity. (y)

Great news . Just a bit of time management can make a lot of difference. Really pleased for you . Drop to six days a week would also make a difference . Maybe a massage or even a spa weekend would be good . Also do you know a good hand cream as mine seem to go really dry lately. Maybe some sort of barrier cream.

f**k**g G**

I could not give a f**k at the moment. I’m doing either one or two gauges a day but either way I’m done by 2 or 3 and home. Not starting particularly early either. I’d rather have a brew and my nose in a book

I am flat out busy..

Set stupid goals and targets and I do whatever it takes to finish them... drives mrs tpf mental...

But if I am not busy I go into a dark depressed place and I become angry and quite punchy...

There has to be a balance and I am still trying to find it

I think a G** week is better than early grave and growing daisy like a G**

Good for you @zombie.
There has to be a balance to life or what's the point?
8-4 five days a week, I rarely do more and often do less.

Quite right. I've recently stopped doing work stuff outside of work hours too. Accounts, making up lists, ordering materials, pricing things up, running around collecting gear or tools, phone off or ignored evenings and weekends etc.

Guess what? The world keeps turning, work gets done, and everyone gets paid. In other words rushing around like a headless chicken at all hours doesn't earn you anymore money, or get anymore work done. It just reduces the amount of time you have for other stuff. It's amazing how receptive people are to the word "no" when it's delivered without any room for negotiation or discussion.

I'll still look at a job for a quote on an evening or weekend, and sometimes go to the unit at the weekend, but that's as much as I'm doing. Although time at the unit isn't all work related tbh.

I’ve stopped.
Got proper job in an air cooled office.
Cycle in if it’s fine. Get breaks foisted on me lest I work myself I’ll, brew any amount any time, people seem genuinely pleased to see me and I’m continually thanked for my efforts......and they pay.........like clockwork.
Loving it.

There's only one thing I miss about working in an office, being able to commute on the motorbike. Ohter than that, it was truely 'square peg, round hole' territory. Brilliant if you're suited to it, sadly I wasn't.

I suppose that's the same for manual work, self-employment or any other way of earning a living. If you're suited to it you'll be fine, if not you'll be miserable.

I worked in an office for 10 years, did well at it, got to visit some nice places (Bangladesh not included), earned ok money and I thought I liked it till I changed to this. It's hard work and feel like I been bashed with a bat some mornings but couldn't comprehend going back. The big difference I noticed was that the office was a job and self employed is like an all consuming way of life

I get it. I was the same, needed to be in charge of my own destiny and all that. However, as I am now, I’m fed up with the all cosuming bit and would rather just turn up, do stuff and get off home again.
A few years ago a job inside would have felt like purgatory to me, but with age comes wisdom...
