I don't normally say this but, "Do a frucking search." This has been done to death and your not a newbie. :RpS_cursing:

i used mine right off. laying on it was fine, considering it just came out the bubble wrap. left a few lines compared to my old tyzack, but then it would. found i kept digging in because its wider. found also that it hung for ages and looked a bit greasy, like when you use cream of tartar. but when it came to trowelling up it was like magic. a revelation. little or no water required. it's flat as a pancake so you want to be near enough flat to the surface as your trowelling. others have just used for trowelling up.

i've since rounded the corners on mine and is much better. also it's changed shape slightly in line with my wrist action. it's no longer flat as a pancake. and it no longer looks greasy or hangs on first coat like it did, strange as that might sound. i think they're superb. they're all i use now. might give the tyzack and MT a run out on hardwall or drywall but that's about it. give it a few days. be patient. i knew straight away, but you may be differnet

I introduced my s*p*r*lex to my missus and they ended up having an affair and now I'm all by myself think I'm going to develop a drink problem to cope!! :-0

Still persevering with it to see if it maybe needs broken in. Seems to work better on higher suction backgrounds, flattening with it while the plaster is still wet just seems to cause more problems and leaves it harder to get a proper finish.

I had one 12-18 months ago Danny. tried it didn't like it sold it. When everyone was saying how they liked it so much I thought I hadn't given it enough of a go. so bought another. still don't like it. just seems to make the surface really sandy/grainy and greasy. I want to like it. If I could work with someone who gets consistent results and show me where I was going wrong I'd use it day in day out

Can a believer post a pic straight after using trowel to flatten while plaster is still wet please? Myself and @beddy have posted ours, if I'm to become a believer I need to have a little faith.

Stuart that was laid in with a m/t flattened with a speed skim. And that picture was taken after the first dry pass with the s*p*r*lex.

They need hardly any breaking in stuart but maybe try 5mins with a bit of wet and dry.
Apart from that keep it flat as you can, with hardly any pressure on the blade.

Cheers Scottie, will give it another bash on Sunday, got a few runs of fresh plasterboard.

Nice @Marshy .... cant beat it for free .... Christ I emailed em last week bout a plaziflex blade that cracked on an angle where the blue trowel holder meets and they said send it in .... so I asked whats classed as a fault with plastic as you could say its just been dropped and its pointless paying postage to be told that .... then it was can you take photos ... bit hard when its in a skip 20 miles away ... annoyed me really as im not after free stuff just a replacement . (spoke to a shop on ebay about non sponge back and they said theyd had returns with the above mentioned crack so obviously they knew about it .

might give the one stop plastic trowel ago...

Iv been using refina trowels since they came out they are mustard my Marshall town only gets used for sand n cement n hardball keep up with the times boys

Buy the double handed s*p*r*lex Darby they do its.mustard for big areas lads

Personally cant see how it achieves a flat finish due to the size and flex in it .... rather stick to a 14'' plazi ....sanding nicks out of plastic that big... no thanks and its game over if you drop that rascal ...
