I tend to run a tight coat over the lintel and then apply some more to the board and push it into place. Support the underside overnight if possible :RpS_thumbup:
Am I missing something here? Do you just mean the metal styley with lots of holes?
If so ive always just dabbed....
Good tip is to dab the sides on leave them hanging to long then pencil line them level with spirit level cut with knife...then screw some slate lats to the inside of either side then can screw under side apposed to having to prop etc if big
mean screw through the sides (cheeks) of the plasterboard into length of slate latte....can then screw up the (header) apposed to having to dot and prop like!
