any reason he asked for this. had problems in the past. if so i always think that the closures haven't been fitted properly. not fixed then there could be movement and then prone to cracking.. just a thought..i've not had any come backs whether its been s+c floated or hardwalled.. seems a bit excessive.

I priced a house recently which had some closers with a phone number on them, so gave the firm a ring to ask what they recommended. They said on reveals that a door would close against to set some mesh into the muck and on all other reveals just plaster as normal, which is what I'd been doing anyway. And yes boarding them is cheating ;)

agreed, plus theres no suction on a cavity closer and most of em (all of em ive never seen one that aint plastic) are uPVC, with an expansion co-efficient of something silly, its like hardwalling over timber, or pvc panelling, if you get away with it, fine but the people that manufacture closers know absolutely jack about plastering and suction..
i dab them so that any movement goes on underneath where its not going to get noticed...
and its a damn site easier... ;D
sppose you could gypbond em first but that might make it worse...?
