Ceiling Rose project

First of all excuse me if I am not using the correct terminology.
Can some one tell me how easy it is to make small ceiling roses ? I am researching the possibility of project for children between 14 to 16
Any other ideas for projects that revolves around plastering and construction greatly appreciated.

when my brother and i where children we would purchase rubber moulds of ships, gnomes, birds etc. we would cast them in plaster of paris and paint them. we then moved on to making our own moulds, we made things like a miniature alter for the local church.
by the age of 15 we where both apprentice plasterers.

i am asked by one of the local primary schools now and again to go in and help the kids to build things out of bricks and mortar like planters etc then render them up and let the kids help me. if you contact one or two local guys they might be prepared to come in and help your kids out for a day or 2

My dad use to make moulds for ceiling roses when I was a kid. My 1st job when I got home from school was to pour in plaster, next day remove rose and cast another, 7 a week :RpS_w00t:
