Customers already got the gear there . wondering if the foam would push the celatex off the wall, screwfix do one for drywall.

Sounds like a bit of a fudge then. I wouldn't want the hassle tbh. Cant you get away with some thin batten? Wont make much difference once its levelled up compared to dab/foam.

Tbh it sounds like a ballach, just tell them it can't be done unless you batton it or use insulated boards stuck and mechanically fixed.
