cleaning boxes out

evening all.. just wanted to see how you all or when clean your boxes out after float (s&c) and setting. cleaned mine out after final trowel and where some of the boxes are set back so deep it looked i'd gone t it with a chainsaw.. thanks in advance for any replies..

normally cut them out as neat as i can cause even sparkys reconmend plasterers sometimes

i normally clean em out after floating then when ive skimmed clean off with a stanley if permitted

I normally clean out a day after floating and then again after the final trowel... unless the sparky has left his wires hanging out of more than the odd box or the boxes are not cut in deep enough or are buried right into the blockwork and then I don't clean them but do let them know why not (having already spoken to them before starting), you'd be amazed how quickly sparks even old ones can learn new tricks

When floating use a small pointing trowel, then when skimmed, as madmonk use a stanley knife

i have a rule, if the sparks put wires in then i will clean them out. if not then i leave them. i find it best to clean them with a stanley just as they gear is setting its soft enough to cut but hard enough so that it doesnt f**k your wall up
