Concrete blinding

Who here has any idea what my structural engineer is on about.

So on top of my 150mm type 1 hardcore he wants 75mm of blinding which is a dry mix.

He wants it at a ratio of 1:3:6

1 cement
3 sand
6 aggregate

What aggregate do you think he is on about?

It's like pulling teeth getting information out of him

If for an internal concrete slab it's usually type 1 whacked then 50mm sand whacked to protect dpm then insulation sheets then concrete poured here .

1 part cement.
3 parts sand, I would use sharp sand.
6 parts stone . I would use 10mm stone.
Then put a wacker plate over the mix to consolidate.
he wants a dry mix... so I assume its being layed like I would screed a floor?

sorry this is for my 15m x 5m garage. Under teh concrete slab... I would normally do as you said but he says not...

Garage slab same as but without insulation then 150mm concrete, if heavy traffic A2 mesh sheet in concrete

75 f**k**g mil to blind some hardcore?
thats just a 9:1 mix, I'd use ballast.. have your mixer at 45degrees chuck in some ballast then half a bag of opc then fill the f**k*r to the top, you prolly get nearly 2 barrows out of it.. throw it in, rake it something like and run your waacker over it like smudger says
