I have 90 square ms of concrete to lay at a depth of 4" I am going to use 4x1 sawn for the shuttering what is the maximum size bays I can put the shuttering at I wil put in steel mesh if needed as I don't want it to crack the base is to take up to 4 cars

If its for 4 cars mate can you not split it into 4 bays ? will make the pour and tamp easier, and create some expansion joints. Id defo put re-bar in also, and maybe even go with 6"
 
I was told by a very wise old concrete specialist that you don't need expansions in such a small area. But you do need saw cuts for controlled cracking . So pour in manageable areas but put saw cuts in at regular points
 
I wouldn't concrete all in one day it would be done over 2 days the area is approx 10m x 3.8 wide if I break it up into 4 manageable bays making the shuttering with 4x1 and putting in reinforcement so the bays would be 3.8 x 2.5 with a edgeing trowel finish also the drive is on a slope would there be a problem with the concrete slumping down just curious how it will turn out

Fibres or steel pins pal saves u getting the nips out for the mesh 150 of crush whacked then visqueen b4 u pour.

Don't have mix too wet and it shouldn't slump at 4 inches it's very unlikely to slump
 
if uve told um what its for and the weight load am sure they happy with that. we dun alot of site compounds for cabins n forklifts to park on and always used rc35 @ 60 slump if thers fall in the slab. 60 slump is stif enougj to hold up but still workable . remember to brush against the directiom its gna b traficked
 
yeah its a better finnish than tamped once ur tamped lets it pick up a touch then easy float it flattens it lovley n brings upt he fats once the fats av firmed up dtag the brush over it and then edge it all with a trowel. you can prob hire an easy float with brush atatchment
 
Ive got grooving tools for forming control joints in concrete they look better than sawing though sawing is probably easier.
