Marshalltown do (or did), two different twitchers - 1. 90 degree. 2. 108(ish) degrees.
I've had both and for me the 90 degree is crap - I know that doesn't make sense as a corner is 90 degrees, however, most corners are not (unless built by one of the top class multi trades on here of course), so the 90 degree twitcher 'wabbles' in the corner. I prefer the 108 degree one, the wings do dig in a bit but you loose the lines when you flatten. Depending on your skill level, a twitch on the 1st coat shows up any dips in the angle and you can fill these out in your 2nd pass (if you do two applications). I always twitch from top all the way down to the skirting line then just twitch up and any join is hidden (not that there ever is cause I'm ACE). The photo shows an out of square angle in my house. By the way, the multi guys will know that tool is a speed square...lol

Yeah, not one of my corners LL. you can calibrate ya speed square on my corners mate. Board dabbed on and flat as a billiard table...tilers love me...if I had to get a tiler in of course! :D

Lol yep I'm a tiler too, don't worry though, my tiling doesn't always go square.

iyts that reason why i do it in two passes... one wing on one side then the other wing on the other side... the angle can be whatever it likes....
 
the nhbc get out of jail free guide to finishes gives quite a generous tolerance to angles.
Corner trowel twicher tips

108 deg angle tool is bollox imo and that ragni thing is the biggest pile of w@nk ever.
 
Used the refina 90degree one and it works OK nothing special but just worked, guess I get on better with the 90° ones.
 
I keep brushing internals with a 1 inch brush until second pass, then twitcher twice or as needed. Marshall town do a corner trowel for concreting. Firmer metal and the wings are smaller, don't dig in and leave marks. Tool some time to get use to it but leaves it a nice job

Been using the old twitcher quite a bit recently and getting the hang of it. Did a little job for a customer today, bathroom with a vaulted ceiling, small, nothing out of the ordinary, but 3 adjacent walls, well one was just a bit of a door reveal/blend. Also took of the wood reveals around the velux, customer wanted plastered reveals, so fitted foil backed board and skim stop beads.

Anyway, point being, I skimmed it all edge to edge, which is something I probably wouldn't have done less than a year a go. Another 'small change' post from Chrispy I know, but another thanks from me to you lot, and I shall continue to bore you with questions and s**t humour :)

I can use em but prefer not to . Can do em free hand then just run a sharp one inch brush down at end. Seen some top plasterers still get that groove it leaves. Kid who works with me is 21 and just uses brush at end and they are spot on. As for us knuckled hitting wall ye must have big hands . When i do corners i hold trowel with the middle of my hand kinda covering the nut that holds handle on

Trying lots of ways John tbf, was getting the timing wrong with the twitcher so leaving lines. I find it useful for forming the corner at the mo and keeping it a tad straighter.

Now I've got a speedy, it makes it easier to get in tight to the corner, so more than half way there and like you say, run the brush down it. Cheers.
 
Trust me anyone that thinks there wet corners are great without a corner trowel are delusional!!!

Dont care if they have been plastering 30yrs or 30 days a corner trowel used properly will out score every time!

You want to be listening to such as @scottie5 @Gibbo @algeeman etc

There Doing multiple full rooms a day and muliple plots a week!

Ignore Mrs Jones plasterer that gets a hard on when the put 1 wall on with a ceiling a gauge for the day that thinks there Rambo!

I do it both with and without a corner trowel.
If the gauge is going fast it's harder to keep the line from the edge of some of them out of it, also just something else to be doing if your under pressure.
If it's put on neat in the first place there's no problems trowelling it out rightly at corners and as stated a light rub of a fine 1 inch brush.
As much about the spread as the method or tools used :whistle:

Mine are great lol
 
I was taught with out using one but when i jumped ship to go on price at 19 learnt to use one straight away wouldnt be without one
