How would he know, yes they do paint render but often leave it for a year or so.In Ireland they don't seem to paint sand and cement... @irish_spread may confirm this
@irish_spread if I remember correctly they often left it un rendered for about six months for settlement ? This would be the stand alone private houses , not the bang it out estatesHow would he know, yes they do paint render but often leave it for a year or so.

That looks like a quality job mate.. Spot on.. Just started a job where they have blew the budget on kitchen so can't afford a coloured render anymore, can't talk them into wet dash so smooth cement render it is not done one for a bit) Lookin forward to doin it and if I don't make a james blunt of it I'll post some pics..Thought id share a Couple of traditional s&c renders me and the boy did (no s*p*r*lex or speed skim but I did use a sponge though).

Great news on the 'yes vote ' Eddie ,are you going back over now.Seems to be in coastal areas, especially on western/southern exposed coasts that they leave it for years to weather before painting. Not sure if there's any practical reason for it or because they're as tight as Yorkshire folk
Remember getting a trailer full for £5 punt,Sand is different over there aswell, coarser but rubs up nice. Rarely cracks as they almost always use concrete blocks, not thermashites
