Hi guys.

Really in a pickle.

I looked at a job, agreed the price. Everything sorted.

I went to start on Wednesday just gone, and he wanted me to take the dado rail off, which i didn't agree to, but he says i did. So anyway i started the job which included knocking off brick window sils inside the room. So i knocked half of the bricks off, they were solid, had a break from them took the dado rail, then went back to the sils. i lost my rag they were soild i thought why the hell am i doing this .... put my stuff in the van and cleaned up, put rubbish outside and left.

Later that day i receive a texted from him saying, i have forwarded your details on to my solicitors with regards to the damaged caused to my premises today. My reply was, caused damage? i have done what you asked. ... his reply did i ask you to leave it like that? .. my reply, i bowed down to your price and did what you asked but you add extra and its not fair ... his reply dont talk to me about fair ill see you in court! .....

I really left the job because i was pissed off .... i should never have taken it on.

Where do i stand guys? i know its naughty of me but people take the p i s s

just go back and finish it and get your money ,and then you can call him a cu.nt from all on the plasterers forum ,good luck mate

He's playing you, wait for the solicitors letter if you want, but it won't come. If it does, you will obviously be explaining how you were told to leave his premises after asking him for more money to do the extras he asked for, and you are counter-claiming for money owed for the work that you have done. Someone will be along soon to tell you how to desecrate his doorstep :RpS_thumbup:

pissed off?? you only had to knock some bricks out, come on own up who is this? its a joke right??

It just came to boiling point, i have never met so many ars e hole customers as i have this year.

up the exhaust pipe is better
did it to the 6foot odd neighbour one boxing day and he came round wanting a fight, i had to get the 3 shot shot gun out to get rid of him (wanka)

fnck me just had a the licence officer round the other day to pass me again i hope hes not on this forum :RpS_scared:

Mind you, your name's gonna be sh!t.
Remember this:

He is required to attempt to resolve the issue first. To go to court in this way might be viewed as abuse of the process in which case it gets dismissed for being 'frivolous and vexatious'. An old bag, well she was from Batley, tried it on with me (court action that is) and the Registrar used those very words.

I hope i hear no more but after speaking to the guy who recomended me, he said the guys like a robot, he's got lots of money and doesn't know how to talk to me.

You must have started a job got fed up and walked, no??

No, it was a tricky job. She sued me for £100 I counter sued her but made a balls of it and had to pay her £8. If I had better represented myself I would have got money out of her. The second time I counter sued and the Registrar threw it out cause he saw what she was up to. The third time she sued me the Registrar threw it out as time-barred, her husband threw a fit in the chambers and he was restraind by the usher and a copper. She was then banned from suing me again.
Having found out how wonderfully fair the small claims court is I sued every client who dodged payment.

I thought the Batley reference would get a response.

s**t on his door step :RpS_thumbsup: I agree with bubbles, if he does sue you, you were asked to leave cause he wouldn't pay you more. Make a counter claim too

This is why you should write up your quote so you both can look back at it its that simple, nearly as simple as knocking a few bricks off that you did price for.

seems to me like your out of order to be honest! you cant just leave because your pisssed off with knocking some bricks out spesh when youv priced for it

Agree 100%. Was the nasty sill hardy wardy to get offy woffy? Sounds like you have a short attention span to me...... started one bit, then stopped and did something else...... oh look! a squirrel!
When I was little I had an imaginary friend called Heena Doe, are you his brother by any chance?

Tell me about it m8. I was kicked off a job last week 2500 hospital consultant because she didnt want to pay 300 in extras. People just want the work done for free these days.

The double dipper is gonna kick in hard this year

Phone the police and tell them you walked past his window and saw him looking at child porn and be done with it.

Its all about how professional you want to be and what a **** the client is it all comes with experience how you deal with it, years ago i ****** people of loads of times cant do it now but i still wont be mugged of.

i would be very suprised if he takes it any further ,get the impression that he is using it as a way of making sure you do not come back to the job, unfourtanetly people are much more demanding these days and a lot of them have a serious attitude problem, the reality is most people are under pressure financially, apprehensive and scared about losing there jobs and this is reflected in the way they talk to tradesmen and treat us,but this is not an excuse to talk/threaten tradesmen, simple fact is they simply have no idea what it is like to be self employed, as warriorupnorth says forget about it ,have a pint , put it behind you. all best hector.

you were a nob for walking off the job. we all have bad days and things crop up that we perhaps weren't expecting but you just get on and deal with it right? If this is how you treat your customers then he has every right to sue you and that reputation that you speak of- I'm sure its not as good as you perhaps think it is. As has been said already, a proper quote stating exactly what the scope of works involves avoids these situations and allows you to charge extras accordingly. Perhaps you didnt have an old fag packet on you that day to write a quick quote up for him
