Coving advice

I'm coving out a room, cut the mitres, nothing matched up, I'm using gyproc cornice 135
Has the profile been changed recently? Or have I got a dud batch.
I'm using 1 length from 1 box and a length from another, but I would have expected it to vary slightly but not this much!

Anyone else had this ?

Just to note the carpet is getting thrown away I'm not that messy

I'm using a miter box set up for s profile, on the new box of coving it's working out fantastic, I've done coving for years and never had this issue, just wondered if other had this issue latley.

The 2 angles were completely different, I've just been and got another pack to use for the next room
Luckily the second pack finished the first room

Normally I use it all at once and don't save any left over coving, it's the first time I've seen it that far out.
It could be any number of things, my main concern was has something changed, but I think we can rule it out now.
These were just 2 off cuts while I set the mitre block up, but their was 2 lengths of box 1 and then 6 in the new one, so I just scrapped the first box.

What's the thoughts on the metal profile triangles ?
I've seen them but always used the mitre box.
Are they any good ?

They are great if you can get hold of one . Fuk knows who sell them nowadays??

Sounds like my set up 2 5mm glazing packs taped together either side of the mitre block cut so the saw can pass through.

Think I’ve got a bit of tile lat stuck down with pink grip . Those plastic gyproc mitres boxes were mint but can’t find them anywhere now

Hes on about the ones they make specicaly for the 127mm
 
I have a metal Gyproc mitre triangle for the 135mil cornice they work a treat but I can’t find another anywhere to replace it not even by British Gypsum. We have had a fair few problems with the cornice some time the casting is so out the the edge is not square to the ceiling or wall without having the cornice halfway down the wall or half way across the ceiling
 
There is a specific cutting guide for sculptured cove and I can't find a seller. Here it is. Not the same if you look as the standard guide as S shaped. Made by gyproc . I'm going to phone next week and ask

I just used a standard mitre box, 2 5mm glazing Packers taped together and then make another set to create a pair, it's easy to adjust to suit. As long as it measures 84mm on the heel edge with the flatter part of the profile aimed towards the bottom of the mitre block.
Just cuts perfect each time

Dependent on the width of the mitre box it's still 84mm heel edge and pack out to suit where the coving butts up can't go wrong.

perfect cuts against imperfect wall angles, packing out to actual angles is the way forward.

Metal gyproc guide on the left of picture is for 135mm sculptured cove only. The one on the right is for the standard 100mm and 127mm cove. Where can you buy the S shaped larger guide from? I'm on earth but none available here that I can find

I couldn't find one a whilst ago so I adapted my own
