it was called the gothem plastering co. plaster bags, brown bags, just had the words sirapite, or gyproc wall finish , keenes cement [a plaster], just the name of the material on them.
plaster would be a different colour from different pits, as we in suffolk would have grey from one pit and pink from another.
So the first bagged plaster under coats from bg were not browning?

Did you ever do any plastering on gypklith. That straw bale stuffthistle browning but not like the browning of today, for block walls, it looked like finish plaster but you mixed it 3 to 1 with sand, washing the mixer out about every half hour.
there was thistle fibre browning, again mixed with sand for floating on plaster lath sheets.
both of these were finished with thistle wall finish.
these were replaced with carlite browning and bonding both pre mixed plasters
