scimmed a kitchen 16 days ago were the customer had dot and dabbed the full kitchen and ceiling, evrything went fine and they was very happy with the work untill today over 2 weeks later he rings me saying 3 boards have craked on the joint and that he only noticed today(not painted yet) .
anyway i asked if the joints had play in them and he said no. also the kitchen fitters have been in and fit carcases and worktop against it,
do you think they could of caused it, i can garuntee i scrimmed the joints so its not that.
said id go look tommorow

sorry its a couple of cracks down the wall on the joints. they felt fine when a scrimmed up no obviouse movement.

Worked for kitchen fitters for years never had any problem with cracking joints wen walls were dot n dabed.Got to be movement in joints.Give them a knock n youl find out if he dabed behind the joints

if its mpvement in the joints whos at fault me or him. he boarded but i scimmed and the plasterer always gets the blaim if there is a crack or owt

as long as youve scrimmed it mate theres nothing else you can do is there ???..........got to be movement issues

usal story customers that want to save money doin it themsevels n fook it up n blame the spread :-\

If theres movement in the joint and its cracked then its 100% the fault of the dryliner, in this case the owner. Its the ovious statement if the foundations of a house are weak then the house will fall down, its not the fault of the roofer but the guy who dug and laid the foundations.
Im sick of house holders thinkin they can do the job better themselves when they've no business even owning a hammer! grrrr!

:D :D
he asked me orriginally to board but then decided to go at it himself, he asked if he should use bonding to dot and dab lol.
was gonna fill with poly filler then tell him to sand before he paints just to keep face

lol probably stuck the boards on with polyfilla should have told him to fill the cracks with flexible decorators caulk then sand back that would keep him busy for a while lol ;D
