Hi All, does anyone know or recommend somewhere I can get a cscs card, I have been plastering all my life, 54 years young. like a lot of us, we learn t from our fathers or straight from school without getting any quantifications. I know want to get onsite but I need to be assessed to be able to get the correct card. I have been spray rendering for years on a white cscs card with specialist renderer but the CITB have decided as at the 30th September, this card will no longer be excepted, Been told I will have to do an NVQ level 2 in plastering.

You have to do an on site assessment no idea how much it cost, when you have that you can have blue card with nvq L2
 
I've got an nvq2 in bricklaying but decided to go plastering soon after. That was 20 yes ago. So if I got a card it would say bricklayer[emoji23] I don't want that! And I don't want to fork out £750 just for someone to come and say "you can plaster, here's your nvq"

To give someone something for free just because they have a criminal record is ludicrous

They wouldn’t give it to me free because I did A levels. If the government contributed towards your further education, you have to pay. Doesn’t pay to have a brain sometimes. Or maybe I’m too big a c**t!!!

If you subby for a firm it's easier I suppose I remember 100's of lads getting them on site no problem and no questions really lol

Again show me where I agree with the free loaders, more lies. What I have said in the past is that the big companies who make billions in profits and pay there staff so little they have to claim working tax credits while dodging there own tax bill is the biggest problem in our society. And I stand by that

Very much the same if you wanted a princes trust grant as well... I was told for that the same but I lived in "posh" area and so I did not qualify...

If I was not so "privileged" they would have given me everything I needed... lol

Got my NVQ level 2 for free over 20 year ago, 12 month full time course government funded. Should have took the bull by the horns then plastering for a living.......Hindsight is a wonderful thing [emoji57]

Like to state at this point that I've never been on the wrong side of the law [emoji56] In fact quite the opposite, working on the other side of the fence so to speak. Found myself out of work & always loved the art of plastering so took the NVQ for self satisfaction. Is that free loading? [emoji15]
