You would know... You talk enough of it [emoji23] your worse than a woman Tony ... Ive a feeling we are going to see you on cowboy builders shortly.. [emoji23]

I've always said it will hit domestics lol fair enough it won't be policed like site work but once the insurance company's get onto it ie public liability then it will happen. The only reason it happens on site and it's getting stricter and stricter is because of insurance, I guarantee once you make a claim in the future or the customer it will boil down to quals the same as driving the more experience you have the cheaper it is.

I have to agree as well.... it's a tax....lol

Thats why alot of self employed workers struggle to get the nvq as they have no insurance and cant use a main contractors policy as its domestic homes they are doing and colleges wont accept a worker with no insurance policy or h & s policy.

I get where Tonys coming from but the likes of British gas and Keepmoat sometimes sub contract their work and i no for sure being they're account manager for training that they will not allow a losc without a blue skilled card to go into install or carry out work in one of their customers domestic homes..
It may not have hit smaller firms yet but as you say and i know it will sooner than later. [emoji106]

In case you were wondering, I have this thing about big companies which is why I am a tad obstroperous with you. I believe that all big companies are run by c**ts, and that they are all out to shaft the small companies and sole trades at every opportunity.

Having nvq level three is a put off to some big companies I have found due to company policy and having to pay a larger hourly rate. I've experienced it a few times and that's what they told me. others like it. weird city lol.

What has having insurance got to do with NVQs?

I worked for a subby once doing council work and unless he got a massive percentage of his workforce qualified ie level 2 and not labourers cards he was t getting the second phase because of insurance costs. I had the drawings through for a job a while back and it stipulated unless I or One of my staff had a gold CSCS card don't bother pricing coz you won't get it. Whether you like it or not they are getting stricter on it, we live in a world where insurance and H&S is costing a fortune.

No problem Tony, I speak to a lot of guys that have the same views as you and I can see your point to a certain extent but I also have a job to do and its to deliver NVQs to workforces that need it in order to get the Blue card to access sites or bid tenders, the majority of them are funded. The thing with insurance is if self employed guys need their nvq the college wont accept their paperwork if they do not have their own H&S cover or Public liability, which is a shame cause ive also dealt with guys that have had to be withdrawn for that very reason yet they needed the blue card to get work.
