So a quality job then, dab the boards onto blockwork with skim and smack a few galv nails in to hold it. :LOL:

Oh, and your eyes do not deceive you, that is a three inch gap between the wall and the window filled with some insulation, carrier bags etc.

Anyway, as I'm a builder you should be able to tell from the photo that I couldn't have done it. There's no expanding foam or gripfill in sight. :LOL:

BTW, this is what's going on the other side of that wall. I took off the plasterboard which was screwed to battens fixed to the brickwork. "Yes you can see through the wall madam. No, it's definitely not supposed to look like that. I think the plasterboard and battens were all that was holding the 4rse end of the house on."

Fortunately for the customer the section moving away (to the left) is what we're taking down to build the extension. I only found the crack when I took the boards off. She did ask if that meant it was going to cost more, and was quite chuffed when I said no.
