That isn't a bg bead, your just using the cheap s**t!
BG bead has more chance of finish getting through and is wider to hold better.

@ 600 intervals or 1st coat gear @ 600 intervals

A correctly dry fixed bead is absolutely fine and meets with b.s., NHBC and BG standards.
I dread to think how many thousands of beads I've dry fixed over the years without any issues.
A lot depends on the beads being used, some are very narrow
and I wouldn't class a few staples as correctly fitted.
But as you've got all the documentation from bs, nhbc and bg I'll have to take your word for it.
I didn't realise the information in the white book had been updated.
