Curious, I should make this my sig - not a plasterer yet - is this "send me an invoice" thing about basically getting out of paying for a fortnight?

Yeah, they made us wait nearly a month. We state 14 days but a court will say 28 to give them a chance.
Our solicitor told us this - said it was a pain but that's what they'd say..

Did a downstairs loo ceiling for a couple, they were amazed at how spotless I'd left it even after having to scrape all the bloody paint off the ceiling before skimming it and all the cove adhesive they'd left.. Gave me a few quid extra so was worth it :)

I bought from him, Mike, not very sticky it actually walked across the carpet and tore easily!

I thought it might be a rogue roll so emailed him, to be fair he sent another foc but it did the same. Shame ss its the cheapest I found.

I use the direct building products one, thick and sticky.

f**k**s.

I'm curious really, I've had three businesses now personally in my short lifespan but nowt like plastering (2 retail, 1 taxi) and I'm curious about how you go about dealing with people who just don't pay? I'm sure you must have had it. Is it just small claims court? I mean if someone can afford to get new walls put on I assume they can afford to pay but then again some people are just genuine *****.

I've heard some fun stories off a mate of mine, he's a bit rough mind and that adds to the fun. He was in a garden one day labouring for his father and his dad comes out and says Robbie you ain't getting paid today, this **** doesn't like your work. So he picks up a hammer and starts smashing everything he's done (cement work, bricking, nearby plant pots or fences) got paid sharpish after that like. I heard stories about Plumbers leaving ball bearings or other sabotage jobs in pipes until they got paid of awkward clients, but as plasterers its just ask for it and hope you get it, oh well :)

Oh and when putting it on the stairs I start at the top and use a 2ft piece of pvc trim to help get it neat in the corners. Takes 5mins

I tend to go up ways and then on each step push my feet hard in to the step and pull the roll up again push in with hands while standing on the step below then move my feet up . Ive got it off to a tee lol

i always use an old pair of pants keeps it from all that **** droppin on the stairs, you can get the in primark.:flapper:
