Recently I've been experiencing problems with my hand and I'm considering wearing gloves. Does anyone wear some, if so what kind?

I wear them ,fingerless leather ones dewalt do them, broke a few fingers and knuckles and helps strengthen my hands ,plus warmer for arthritis:RpS_thumbsup:

yeah i do sometimes when using lime and on outside work ,latex ones are good and only cost a few quid only problem is they make your hands cold this time of year

Try these ??
does anyone wear gloves?

Nope, impossible to wear gloves doing fibrework. Hands constantly submerged in a bucket of plaster when in shop and need the feel of the joint rule / busks when stopping up.

cant get latex ones that fit my hands withour ripping easy or allowing plaster to get down the back of em./
Marigolds no good as cant get a feel when putting laths in the cast / doing stroke offs.
Any fabric gloves are no use as become solid within 20min.

So basically like it and lump it.

Ive got the old rough as a bears arse style hands unfortunately.

How do you peeps get dirt (the real black stuff mainly from a lath ceiling) when it gets right in the cracks in the skin on your hands. My best method is using a nail brush and just going at me hands with it, but still doesnt lift it all out. Look like a right scruff when in the shops!

wear them all the time m8 perfect fit gloves size 10 cant beat them.my hands are lovely no split thumbs or fingers just perfect m8

Pink marigolds with the fluff can't beat them, do the customers washing up inbetween trowels :RpS_thumbup:

Invest in some descent barrier cream apply before work and then every time after you wash them and the muck lifts off easier

I wear gloves when working with engines and what not :-) but I also use swarfega to keep them clean :-)

And if they get really dirty then I go swimming at my local pool as the chlorine works wonders :-)

Mike . When I was a lad the old plasterers used a lot of lime based plasters. They used to piss on their hands at the end of the day . Wash them, then out came a piece of fat or tallow which they would rub over their hands and tools to stop them rusting. The same applies when casting, use tallow as a barrier on your hands. With regards to the old lath ceilings ,glasses mask and gloves a must. If you want a hand cleaner speak to Nick ,we have one that breaks down the **** on your hands, then its back to that lump of fat or tallow it works wonders.Hands as soft as a baby's bum

My great grandad once had a little shout at me because i had plaster in my finger nails and i remeber to this day him saying to stick me hands in the bucket of release agent and rub it in. Never did :( Prob about time i start as after 10 years my hands are FOOOKED!

yep i wear gloves, leather flight gloves, one of my mates is a pilot so i get them for free.

guess im lucky ,never had a problem with my hands , never had a split or even lime burn , so never had too or wanted to wear gloves
