Scene these used on sites but me mate gave me 2 100m rolls to try..i normally use some heavy duty cotton sheets but thought with my new work experience working the last couple of weeks I better try and make the floors bomb proof for any plaster sploshed on floor.
First room I used was a tiled floor I couldn't roll it out straight and got peed off so reverted back to me good old faithful's but today I kind of got to like them also cut up some little strips and wrapped sockets up with it and the Victorian fire.
Any other domestic used them ?
And what's your verdict like or dislike ?

I do tend to drop the odd little dollop:whistle: shite on tiles but stuck like glue on the carpets.....two rolls side by side for plastering stairs would work nice.

I use the roll and stroll for carpets and stairs when I'm working inside someone's house. Its great stuff but doesn't come in 100m rolls :( I hate using sheets! They never stay in place and are a nightmare on stairs.

This is another tread that reminds me why I hate plastering all the covering up. It has to up there with the worst jobs to have. Lol I can't even handle the smell of pva anymore.

@hail hail There you go mate...ebay always finds a way

Nice1 TBH, I've never really searched for the 100m roll, I've just went in an bought the rolls out of builders yard or plumbers merchant. Asked them for larger rolls and they said they can't get them. Probably more profit in selling the 25m rolls. As for the stuff, its great IMO, sticks perfect anytime I've used it and its non slip for hop ups/ ladders etc...

@platerman if it didn't stick to tiles it could be that's it's carpet protector only as they do one for hard floors and another one for carpets normally [emoji106]

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] very true!

I get mine from R AND J Hardware
Carpet one is clear
Hard surfaces is red
Both 100m and both only 20is with vat.
I use the red one for Windows aswell.

I put my dust sheets ontop If im skimming for the Xtra protection.
With water and plaster on the protector it makes a mess as its sits on the surface.

Got given a pink roll for tiles bud it stuck fine to tiles, glass and kitchen unit it was the rolling it out straight I couldn't get right on hard surface that did me nut in maybe I need a bit more patience with it.

Its okay using it for stairs if you're working in a bedroom but if the bedroom or the living room is carpet its best to use dust sheets over the carpet protector as well because ive found that my hop up digs into it too easy

I use it all the time if it's more than a 1 day job don't use the carpet protector on hard floors unless it's stated on it u can I seen a builder spend 2 days with a scraper and hair dryer getting it up of a tiled floor that's a mistake I won't be making my self there's some good deals on ebay but if it's vinyl floor coverings I use brown paper and masking take as I'd be afraid the protector would pull the vinyl up

I just use that novi pro stuff from jewson. Hard floor and carpet. Suppose I should buy from a wholesalers but never get round to it.

Quick question???? Why didn't you double width it on the stair carpet? Is the bits on either side easier to clean than the middle? I always cover the whole stair when I do mine just to save the grief if anything did happen, just saying

Beads and scrim, bought some before from p1ss, then ehsmith matched the price, but now they wouldn't and p1ss is out of stock for donkeys years

Expamet beads from less2fix.com (65p inc vat) scrim I never bulked brought still looking for some where that does the gyproc fibre tape in bulk ..next on me list to stash up on.
Does seem that gyproc is only available from b and q £5 - £7 a roll I not paying that for a roll even though it didn't fray and stayed stuck , heard 50/50 on the catnic being ok but I need to try a few rolls to see myself if it's any good, scrim pisses me off.
Sig do a good own brand one at £2.50 ,sometimes it frays though and falls off and sometimes doesn't .
Why can't they just make a tape that is ok.

Is that 3m or 2.4m beads? Catnic tape is OK, cheap and cheerful, all scrim can fray at some stage for whatever stupid reason.

Why can't they just make a tape that is ok.

The orange catnic was shite at the beginning but they changed the glue and it's brilliant. Last year I emailed a catnic rep and told him I wasn't happy with the last 10 rolls I bought and he said he would get 10 rolls sent out to me gratis, 2 weeks later I got a phonecall from a delivery driver in a lorry outside my house saying there was a delivery of plasterers tape for me and could I go out and give him a hand with boxes...I thought what a lazy c**t it's only 10 rolls!

Walked outside confused and the driver was unloading boxes of scrim outside my driveway. 10 boxes of the shitting stuff 24 rolls per box I couldn't believe they would make such a cock up. Sat tight for a few weeks waiting for a phonecall to take them back but didn't hear anything. Happy days.

there's always somebody

I use loads of the stuff. Any job i have to walk on carpet it goes down. If im plastering a hsl i do the whole thing. You get quite quick and get it perfectly flat. To do a good job on the stairs the trick is to get a piece of pvc window trim and use that to get it right into the edges so it doesn't pull away. Much safer than dust sheets especially for the customer and dont have to take it up every day and relay it every morning

Domestic sheeting.
