I remember around 2007 when things slowed down and sites started closing.Some lads had been with the one builder for years and had no contacts built up.They really struggled to get a bit of work whereas the plasterers who were doing private houses had a bigger network.

yep I was on domestics in 2007 and did welll.. then went away for a year travelling in 1009

I work on small sites so radios aloud.working direct for the builder so I get good rates.
I hate dealing with customers.finish on site and no answering the phone in the evening

Good rates what's that £10 an hour?! F**k working for builders...pr*cks all want something for nothing and think they are spreads.

Radio really pisses me off now....I'm so board of the same repetitive sh*t even bored of my ipod, prefer the sounds of whisks, demolition drills and impact drivers

I used to love maintenance and commercial stuff , shop fits and that.
Always something different.
The thought of knocking flats or houses out week after week for a wage , hard graft and crap money.

Domestics are great but im getting lazy , carried a few tubs up stairs today and i was wheezing and sweating like i was 90.
im mixing upstairs tomorrow
Hard to keep a labourer as you tend to end up skimming all the time, so you have to do all the donkey work.

No complaints from me on domestic , school hours most of the time and loads of adoration from the clients about how great you are and what a skill plastering is , loads of tea and biccies and chats with rich housewives.
Whats not to like?
