Ok to days i went 2 work on me own set up for artex ceiling over skim.

fill up bucket with water lobbed most of a bag in bucket.

um no power mixer wouldt work ,maybe it was the trannie but either way i mixed up 2 sets by bucket trowel!

even if it is the tranny its time 4 a new mixer i have a 5year old makitta one.

ganna buy one rite now online from refina.. just for knockin up no more than 2 bags at a time skim.

best one for that would be??????????????????

had same problem a few months back, poured multi in the bucket and mixer didnt start, had to take it apart, finally got it working, but had f**k loads of hard bits in the mix! aint good leaving it sitting in the bottom of water bucket! :D

you mixed it up by hand? I wouldnt even attempt that! Id have gone home or gone and hired one!

witch one is the 1700 flyn?

and what do you think to the style of option 2? never used one like this

Always always carry a spare even if it's just a cheap drill & paddle it'll get you out of the s**t!
And carry a podger for emergency's like when you end up knocking up by hand this'll do the job as good as a mixer.

i keep a podger in van, if i do a small job 1-2 bags i use it, saves all the hassle of getin drill and 1/10 out pluss keeps you fit haha

I always carried a spare.. thank god but when theres no eleccy thats when teh sh1t hits the fan... the joy!

I remember doing some massive sets on site and the electric went and they said we had to jmix by hand..... 3 hour lunch break and a day work sheet was in hand!

Always buy the best you can afford! and repair the fooked one!

have you bought it yet mate? theres eibenstock (refina) ones on the internet, 1800x for £339 and church said he offered him £270 on the phone and he accepted.

I had a power cut a while back, just about to mix up and pop no power!! Stick to knock up n cordless n paddle to get out the lumps! ;)

Its not always a power cut you have to worry about,
what about when your inbetween 1st & 2nd coat & sparks turn up out the blue no warning & knock the power off lights everything >:( >:(

thanks people and i can see that one flyn but its £360+vat! just to knock skim up? i fort that one was for doing like 4 bags if hardwall? what do you guys think of the other style with one handle?

im ganna pic one 2night and buy. ill look at that them ebay 1s now mate

we have spare drill and a genny in van dsnt run the jody though so gotta knoch the hardwall up with drill wen there is a power cut. >:(

It knocks up 4 drywall, hardwall and mixes sand and cement no probs also mixed concrete a few times saves usin a mixer, ive had mine ten years no probs appart from my mate catching the lead, bit of advise if you do get one rap the lead around the handle once and tape incase you catch it in the wisk saves takin it appart inside.

i don't mind getting the top one but the only thing i cant decide on is the style!

the 2 handle or the one? iv allways had 2 but PTF do a top of the rang in one handle so i don't no weather to go with refinas one handle?
any ever had one?

OK got one now! next day deilvery and all! with £100 freels thanks for that link flyn i dint see £100s free tools on the page iz on!
