I completed a job earlier this month & it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish! I have been plastering for 30 years & have never had to do a job as awkward as this 1 :RpS_crying: It was a single storey extension that was going to be an art studio that had some weird arty farty ideas when it came to the design especially the plasterboarding & skimming. The ceiling joist were not going to be boarded & skimmed but the pitched roof trusses were!! It was difficult enough doing the boarding with insulated board never mind the skimming! There was approx 30 ceiling joists to work around with a hawk & trowel, ducking in & out & up & down, me & another spread done the ceiling in 2 sets but nearly lost the second set but just about got it troweled up to a fashion:RpS_blink:
I was back today to finish another area in the same property & viewed the nightmare ceiling after it was painted, it was better than I had expected but there were a few areas that looked a tad rough with scrim showing through etc. The builder wants me to put some drywall final coat stuff onto the bad areas & he would sand them off the next day. Never done this before & aint sure that it would work. Anyone any experience in this smooth over method? Dont want to fall out with the builder as he gets me plenty of work. :RpS_thumbsup:
