We know what happens to construction in recessions.End of day what the f**k do we know
What will compound it too is the job losses in other sectors. A lot jump into the building trade out of desperation. Supply outstrips demand ten fold.We know what happens to construction in recessions.
Yes what is happening has never been seen before in history, thats what makes this beast different, so many good businesses are going to go under all at once through no fault of their own. What will compound it too is the job losses in other sectors. Ye but some fly through recessions so find it hard.this isnt a normal recession so we have no clue how its guna unfold, this isnt a financial crash so let's sit tight and see how it unfoldsWe know what happens to construction in recessions.

Can always rely on hector to put a shine on itthis virus is far from over,it will be with us in some form for decades, everybody will have to adjust to a different world,
1.at doctors yesterday, every other chair in waiting room had sign on do not sit here,receptionist/nurse wearing a mask, doctors mostly telephone call to patients.
2.cinema,customers will be spread out,an entire row of seats will be empty, then more seats, the cinema needs to have as many people as possible in to pay overheads staff/electric/rates etc, they can not possibly survive on a partially filled cinema.
3.a ban on changing rooms in shops, who is going to buy an item of clothing without trying it on first, result sales down/more refunds etc.
4.go to a restaraunt/pub for a meal, having your meals fetched to your table by someone wearing a mask, again partially filled .
bank of england yesterday said worst recession ever is upon us,everybody myself included over these next few days/months are in for some unpleasent times, and its going to get worse, much worse, over the coming weeks/months there will be many many closures ,cinemas/gyms/cafes/pubs shops,.........this is just the start,...and dont think you wont be affected we all will only a matter of time before sites close down,...plasterers/plumbers/brickies/joiners/builders merchants not getting paid people going bust ,....... a truly very large nightmare is approacing fast.
Hope you're right mate. Friend who's a brick says can't see it slowing Much, still a vacuum, people still need houses etcI think its gon a be mad busy after this. No ones starving as had hand outs . People are gonna want people in to do house up so domestics will be good. Could be some shite on site as they will be playing catch up
Exactly that what it is a topic about the econmy. But when grown up people can't debate in a manreable way they should worry more about ther mental health than covid19.if this keeps on topic of the economy then all is good

UK building firms are slashing jobs at the fastest pace in almost a decade, suffering a steep downturn in work as the coronavirus ripples through the sector.
A closely watched survey of construction leaders showed the fastest monthly decline in employment numbers since 2010 and in levels of business since 2009.
New orders slumped and work stopped on many sites as the outbreak took its toll on activity, ending a fragile recovery since December’s election boosted confidence.
Analysts said it pointed to the worst economic downturn in a century, coming alongside separate figures on Monday showing UK consumer confidence and new car registrations collapsing.
Nothing, just seems some people don't want to accept what's coming will be bad. Or think people's opinions are pessimistic.when every stat is pointing to something we ain't seen in 100 years. What’s fake about that?
