I think that's more mesh+adhesive+topcoat . Even so, I am surprised to see it coming so easy off. Planed ahead I would say.

Scary how easy it came off. What was the reason for it thou?

Apparently it separated slightly at the front verticle edge, the wind worked it loose a bit, then a strong gust fcuked it off completely. So I guess (pure speculation on my part) they didn't double up the fixings along the edge, and whatever it was finished with on the surface didn't seal along that edge.

This reminds me on a repair I did. The rubbish bin was set on fire and discoloured the render above it. Had to cut a patch and replace the boards underneath . I was shocked to see the boards slightly melted and there was no visible damage to the render at all. Did I manage to separate the mesh from the eps- hell no! I had to brake it! Same story with the dabs at the back. I have said it before- this stuff sticks like nothing else!! The only time I had problem was during the winter using maite for dabbing and mesh- found all boards on the floor next morning and it wasn't so cold tbh.

Anyone been to Poland? EWI everywhere.
Ewi is big on the continent for decades, not as many grants as here in the UK, people still doing it cos it's worth it. 90% of new builds have it.

I think as said above its base oat mesh and TC, it's failed because of bad key just like any render would. I would of used Parex micro or Jub vezercryl first and more pins in the base coat
Is the vezercryl any good mate?
Is it like microgobetis?
I will need some for a jub render only system over concrete

Vezercryl is very good mate, there only small tubs though, but can water down about 30 percent . Cheaper to use micro. But if I'm using Jub I stick to there products for guarantee mate

It's 14 flats on a timber frame although the ground level in a concrete base
Gary pearcey is sorting out the spec so I'm sure he'll sort me out!!

20 yrs ago the permarock system was rockwool which was bedded on with adhesive then scrimmed then pinned, pins were then spotted with bedding mortar followed with pebble dash. It makes more sense to me for the pins to go after mesh, it wasn't until the texture coats came about that this changed.

I thought you had only been in the game 5/6 years mate?

Over 20 yrs I'm sad to say. Brought up on ewi from school mate had a long spell away from it to learn the internal shite.

Has it been getting used that long cross the big pond. I thought it was just a new thing that hit the market in the last 7 years. I'd never seen it once untill the recession hit.

Yes probably more like 30 yrs.
Back when I started there was only a handful of firms did it and pretty much got to chose the work now every mug is at it.
Earnt better money out of it when I was 21 than I do now I'm 37.

with the permaroc system you do the same prep for stone dash as you do for bucket coat. pins through the mesh every 500mm apart.

Yes true, do you think it's a better way of fixing?

we always have a pull test permaroc is a good system.
we have had the boards ripped off by wind before it has been scrimmed on tower blocks.
you do have to make sure the boarders are using dabs and not mixing the base coat coat wet and just pouring it onto the board, this is called jugging, and it is a lot faster, and can fail.

Never liked jugging cos it was too messy and like you say it wouldn't bond well enough.
Ginger bloke used to come out and do the pull tests and Oliff brothers were supervisors, do you know if they are still about?
