The joints are to try and replicate the original
Hi I thought it was stone when I priced it from the ground but when the scaffold was up and i got a closer look it turned out to be some sort of fired brick/corbelI've never done any exterior work like that - what kind of stone was it? Bath stone?
I'm curious - how do you ensure a reliable longterm bond between the existing and new material?
I regularly see Edwardian houses with stonework in need of repair, around their bay windows, and it's quite common to see existing repairs falling away.
Lovely job, by the way. Congrats.
