For facebook to be viable I reckon you need over 1k friends on your friends list. You may get the odd job from it with less on your friends list but, as i say i reckon you need loads of friends to like your page to get your name about to get work on a regularish basis from it. Also i reckon posts on your timeline from customers would also help even if they did not find you on facebook if you get me drift.

iv got a facebook page had about 3 jobs since starting it in early december only thing was only have limited photos as never used to take pictures before of my work

got 1881 friends on facebook but due to em being from around the country only about 300 are from local area
and to get noticed on facebook uv either got to keep getting friends and family sharing the page or keep updating with photos so wen people comment or like it gets seen on there profiles

using a link Danny posted on here I linked my FB to twitter so when ever I post it shares. For me FB was never about getting noticed by friends it was about finding new contacts, I go through lists and find local trades, shops, architects, surveyors etc etc, once I have their contact I send out some images or a video and see what happens.

Facebook is for jokes and posting pictures to me.......bit like this place but less pics as i was sent to the naughty step lol :RpS_laugh:

Twitter sounds a bag of shite to me!! People have asked me to join but I say na thanks !! :RpS_mad:

were those 3 jobs any good, it would have been time well spent if so

Best job I had was £1800 the day after I set it up ... that was a m8 liking my page then one of his m8s saw it and the rests history ..

Best 1-2 hours ive spent

Nice work by the way Oli :RpS_thumbup:

Gotta admit a nice rendering / Acrylic job always stands out on page/site

twitter is more effective than FB IMO......................get ya sell on it marshy

I agree, Ive been flicking between TPF, Twitter and an online directory. I find a local business in the directory, follow them then wait for follow back everyday picking 10-20 new contacts. Once I get a few hundred up there I will put up more links to website and vids. early days yet, see what comes of it all

You a bit slow at the minute mate ?

Quite the opposite bud, had lots of external these past 2 weeks and little internal to fall back on so whilst it was quiet I thought I would set up some online advertising. Danny is building me a website and with his advice Ive set up twitter, youtube, lindin, google+. From next week we have 4800m of skimming plus we have to get all our render finished (only a couple of hundred m left) so wont have time for all this. All Im doing is hopefully reinforcing business for next year and hopefuly be in a better position to pick the work that I prefer (especially when new baby arrives in August) :RpS_thumbsup:
