Fcking sharp trowels

Gave myself a good one today while cleaning the trowels. Was patching In the house this afternoon and somehow managed to slice my finger good. I musta caught a vein or something cos the blood was spraying up the walls and all over my face. Only done this a few times but it seems to be everytime I don't wear gloves i get cut.

I usually find that happens when i use my fingers to scrape the drier fat off the edge of the trowel :rolleyes) As long as the walls are ok then happy days :RpS_thumbsup:

it really fcuking hurts that i cut my wrist once with my trowel i was just talking to someone and happened to have my trowel in my hand and i was just flicking it back and forth so the handel was slipping round in my hand and managed to flick it too hard straight accross my wrist resulting in big cut lots of blood and a really sick feeling me

Ime pretty good at doing myself with a stanley when boarding.

Even better when the stanley (fresh blade) bites the edge of the level and goes straight into the side of your thumb then diagonally through your thumbnail and exiting near the top of the nail on the other side. That made skimming a 40 square ceiling enjoyable with the hawk bouncing on a 2 piece thumbnail :RpS_scared: Im pretty accident prone and rarely go a full day without bleeding over something:RpS_laugh:

amateur tut tut :glare:

Gaz why did your stanley bite the edge of ya trowel?

no when it bites the edge of ya straight edge ive done the same in the past but a bit of gaffer tape a short swearing session and a few benny golds soon sorted that out

youve been finishing early with the sponge and goin up the club with ya spare time again aint ya

no mate, i could do with a spare just incase though, but a new one will have to wait till next year, ive a fortune to save cos im getting married a year this june, we are getting married abroad and we are going for a month, so £300+ is just too much to spend at the mo to leave in the lock up (itll prob break now :RpS_scared:)

Rarely use a straight edge when cutting board as you say can be dangerous we nearly always cut freehand of the tape or if its awkward pencil line first.

well if one end is 500 and the other is 600 do you use the straight edge to put a pencil line on it then cut it free hand??? got to be easier using the rule surely

When cutting board the the full length of a 2.4 with different widths at each end just ping a chalk line from one side to the other then score line with knife. :-).

i have never thought of that before haha i usually use 2 straight edges and struggle, haha wat a pirck, ill be useing that little one from now on haha

As beader says on a full board chalk line, if cutting rakes as you say straight edge pencil line and freehand, each to their own just dont like cutting to straight edges its the only times ive cut myself.

WHAT???? chalk line??? pencil ???
just put the straight edge down and cut it!! how do you cut your self using the straight edge??? must take ages measuring, getting the string line out or getting the pencil out

the knife can bite the straight edge and then your in danger of cutting ya thumb off ive cut my self many times useing the straightedge, plus you only really have to cut with a line if theres a difference in measurment end to end other than that just cut it with tape an knife like dryliners do, so your not looseing time drawing or pinging a line every now and then.

nps my mixer came today:RpS_thumbup: all im saying is beast

oi, jr ill look after it for you till you get back to slinging the shitt up the wall :RpS_thumbup: youll be mixing up in a dustbin now youv got a beast lol

Takes seconds mate trust me you will rarely see a dryliner use a straight edge.

looking at the size of it mate i dnt think it turns the material in the bucket i think it turns the room around the bucket
