I have been told not to buy a cheap one cos they are a pile of sh**e, but at what price range do you qualify as cheap?

Go for the lightest ones its usually the cheaper ones that are light but they are so much easier to use.

Bods bob on there mate, lighter the better. paid about 20 quid for mine, its a trapezium type. Got a nice groove down the back for good grip, weighs next to nowt.

i got one from wickes its spot on same as above nice little finger groove in the back and light and anything

There's a lot to be said for a bit of skirting for edging.

They bend nice to follow my bendy walls.

buy 2 3m edges from refina cut 1 down to 2.3m and cut the other down to 6 foot and you'll have a 4 foot with what's left

I bought the 2.5 from there the other week and cut it down to about 1.8. Real nice edge to use.
