Its not £40-£50 wen its a £50,000+ job zolco...its alot of cash if say lads have skimmed 4 floors of appartments

Are you subbing that amount of work out?

Was thinking that as well, even if the job was 10k, sure 2% is only 200qiid. A lot wouldn't waste their time going back to fix it for 50-200 quid.

Plus there wud never get repeat work as well..ud be amazed wat lads will cum bk n sort so there wudnt lose retention cash half of them have already spent it in there heads

Yes, that's where I'm coming from, that £200 wouldn't cover the mats and a patching man for a day from an agency

I'm waiting on a lot of 5% from last years run of work. Going to leave it untill last payment to collect instead of 5% at different times. Best to get lump sum

No I wish..or do I...job were on at min is a big un and subbing out on that,jumping on a massive Job in couple of months with another plastering team and this builder has got repeat work on massive jobs ahead so wen u add all that retention up at the end ur talking gud cash

Most firms now put on enough to cover patchers .....not from ropey lads but other trades fuuck ups.
Hassle getting day work sheets and argueing about waiting to get paid for them .
Alot of times housing firms and plastering contractores end up splitting it 50/50 ...the day rate bill.
And keep moving forward.

Ive never been a fan of retention.

The fact that skim to board rates should be a min 4.50 m2 on site now and hover around the 3quid mark would say your legally obliged to leave the cnuts 1.50 a metres worth of making good.

In a ideal world scotty ur rite but u ain't getting that in Yorkshire pal ud never get work..we wud get laughed at if we put that in we only make 50p m2 on lads skimming which is f**k all..
