so you reckon you can get more pressure using a small pole on the walls ? can you not hold it with two hands ?

You can get much more pressure with a pole with a lot less effort, well I can anyway

I remember at Tech college my old lecturer used to say "pressure = force over area, to simplify it imagine a fat bird wearing stilettos standing on your foot..."

I don't use a pole when working on walls, too cumbersome.

Know what your saying about to cumbersome, but the short pole I've got is only about 450mm long and is ideal, for me anyway, on the wall
