flatten or not?

i just cant ever agree with 1 coat..there is never a good finish with it.every time iv seen 1 coat painted it wavey in the sunlight..most people who one coat dnt realize how wank it is cuz they never see it painted..but every does it how there comfortable doing it.

sorry to sound G** but both board finish and multi finish have been designed by gypsum to be done in 2 coats whether u flatten on 1st or not it is supposed to be layed on in 2 coats as this strengthens their product...(not my words gypsums).....1mix = 1 coat...even if u lay it twice......to each their own tho.....i just find u get a far superior job with 2 mixes when its painted,or if some nutter paints a vinyl silk on it
