Whereabouts are you?,is there no decent hardware near you?.

In the back end of nowhere on the emerald isle, nearest builders yard is 30 mins away! Phoned both them and they've never heard of PVA grit, phoned a few futher again in a small city and they haven't heard of it either :(
Decided to just throw the skim on a few walks of it to try out, seems OK though I thought it hung bit longer than normal.

In the Emerald Isle myself. The only product I find hard to get is SBR, most hardwares have never heard of it,and I'd honestly say that a lot of plasterers here don't know it exists.

Completely true that Nicm.
I've asked for it and they look at me like I've five heads.
Struggle to get mesh too, have to get it from SIG in Dublin if I need any at short notice. Order from UK generally, and I've learnt to have a couple of tubs of sbr in the shed at home!

The skim won't fail on MR boards, it'll seem to hang a bit until after its flattened but the gauge will finish in same time.

Try E tag in county Meath. We get a lot of beads, mushroom fixings etc off them.Good value and service. Some of the hardware shops in Kildare would put Dick Turpin to shame.
