Hi Guys just to let you know that Geason have funding to deliver NVQ Level 2 qualifications free of charge in England all done on site for the following:

EWI Boarding
EWI Finishing
Plastering
Dry Lining
and many more....

By achieving this NVQ you can then apply for the Blue Skilled workers CSCS card which saves you from doing the Health and Safety test for 5 years.

If you require any more information then do not hesitate to contact me.

Cheers

Anything in scotland?

We havent got funding in Scotland Stuart :RpS_thumbdn:, the only way we could do it is if your company is CITB registered and we could claim down grants from the CITB which would cover the costs of the NVQ.

I was registered with them then they started demanding thousands of pounds in levy charges and loads of paperwork to do so I hunted them.

is this for subbies or would you need to be working for a company that's citb registered ?

It's for everybody in England mate, you dont have to be working with a company that is CITB registered to do the qualification.
Obviously it's easier/quicker for us to get an assessor to come out and see people if their are a few of you needing it but we do pick up self employed guys also.

Hiya, yes if we do an NVQ with you you can then apply for your Blue Skilled Workers CSCS card which will last for 5 years.

Also there is a change just now with the CSCS cards with the majority of sites now specifically asking for the workers to have this blue card instead of the normal green and white ones.

https://www.cscs.uk.com/cscs-cards/green-card-changes

The NVQ itself only last's for 15 weeks from enrolment until certification so it's a very easy process.

i think you misunderstood my question, my cscs card is the RED "experienced workers" this lasts for one year then you have to have the NVQ I can't now get a green card as I have had the red one, but your rep was under the impression I could have the Red card extended for another 6 months if i was on a course or had proof i was now taking the NVQ, could you confirm this is the case

the reason i ask is i have two options pay £900 for the fats track route (2 day course) or the one you do that is spread over 6 months, if i take your route then i need the card extending as i can't get on a new site without it

Sorry Kev, Yes this indeed the case.

What we also do for people is send them a letter on Geason headed paper confirming they have enrolled on a course and this also allows Installers access to site without a cscs after it expires.

brilliant, what do i do next ? email or ring you ?

You could just e-mail if you like. All i would need is names, dates of birth's and what area you usually work in. I would then call you and organise someone to come onto site for enrolment (this is 15 minutes of filling in the funding paperwork).

my e-mail is [email protected]

look forward to hearing from you.

hi Liam I have done NVQ Level 2 and 3 with Geason but have never received my certificate for them my blue skilled workers card has just run out how do I get the five year card? and certificates.. Thanks.. Russ

Hi Russ send me a pm of your full name and e-mail address and I will get a copy sent over to you. After that all you do is fill in a cscs application form and sent it with a copy of the certificate and a passport photo. Think it will be £30. I don't think you would have done a level 3 with us as we don't deliver it, what we can do is level 3 supervisors but only have funding in certain regions at the moment.

well what can I say, bit dissapointed to be honest had a reply from liam @Geason end of last week to say that one if their assessor would contact me early this week, it's now Friday had no contact soo i have now gone down another route with another company and am being assessed for NVQ on Tuesday via the EWAR,

Don't you mean more lucrative for your company, to assess several operatives at once?

All nvq courses are a joke. My wife could get an Nvq in plastering in a day probably and she can't even spell plastering.

I have lost all confidence in the scheme.

cheers kev, im like yourself, also been plastering for well over 30 years but got no paper work,, never needed it before,, now theres all these idiots out there who cant plaster to save their lives but they've got the nvqs ,, so they can get on site and fu ck it all up but the spreads like us wont be able to get on site soon, time to do the ewar soon i think,

perhaps that's why i wasn't contacted, only one of me

Hi Kevin

Sorry you have decided to go elsewhere, you are correct though. I was waiting for the next time 1 of our assessors was in your area before coming to enrol you as it wouldnt make sense for us too send 1 down for 1 guy but like i said before we are always working all over England and would have been in contact over the next week or 2.

It is much easier for me to send an enrolment officer out if we have a few learners to pick up, however i hope that doesnt put single self employed guys off as we would definitly pick them up the next time we are in area.

Sorry for the late response guys as i have been off for a few days.

If anybody requires more information just give me a call on my landline or mobile (07711007976) anytime.

Regards

Hi Richard

I am very dissappointed to hear your thoughts on the NVQ programme, there are many benifits to having an NVQ in a specific trade namely access to the blue skilled worker cscs card. However there is a vast number of plasterers or people working within other trades who will not hold an NVQ although very skilled at what they do, it's unfortunite that after the 1st September this year you will no longer get access to any building site unless you have the skilled workers cscs card. We at Geason are a family run business and are wholey passionate about delivery excellence to all of our customers.

We offer a no nonense approach to deliverying exactly what each and every one of our exiting and new customers require. The famous saying the proof is in the pudding. With regards to your comment that your wife could do an NVQ is Plastering i agree as long as she is competent. The NVQ programme is not for people who do not have the skill for Plastering therefor a competent Plasteter will pass the NVQ no problem, should someone not be competent an apprenticeship programme would be the route for them.

I would love to discuss this in finer detail with you to hopefully change your opinion on what we can do for you.

Warmest regards

An funding for Wales coming up???

Hi Deri

Sorry at the moment we only have Funding to deliver in England. If you or your company is CITB registered then we would be able to pull down grant's from them to pay for your NVQ.

Sorry about that.

Something dodgy ?

Hi mate

No nothing dodgy at all.

Geason are a well known training and apprenticeship provider in the UK. We deliver 2000 NVQ's a year for al different trades and have a great reputation in doing so.

Have a look at our website if you have any fears over us.

Kind Regards

My plastering company is not CITB registered but my fathers Building Company is. I could maybe go through his company to get the grant???

@Geason We have 4 guys that need NVQ in plastering. All experienced

I get the feeling now is the right time to get a skilled card. Don't like my green one

So it is just about the money then. The most objectionable thing I find about this whole NVQ assessing b*ll***s, is that they send some c**t out that has probably never lifted a trowel in his life, to tell you that you can do your job that you have been doing for umpteen years, and relieve you of hundreds of pounds for the privilege. No thanks.
