Want to get Straight onto a gauge !

Every day after last set get your scrim beads on ect Staple the scrim to avoid disappointment.
Or ———before you know it it’s 930 & you ain’t got a set on

Wakey wakey

Yep definitely, I always prepped for next day if poss. Beads, scrim, water, bags, power sorted. But I'd give scrims a quick brush with watered down pva rather than staple.
2 hits done by 2pm easy hour to prep, on way home by 3pm.
Loads I knew would prep in morning, have sandwich before starting and be working late, could never understand it.
I'd be nearly finishing 1st hit before they even started!

Keep in front with prep, first day bead scrim setup for first set then during set when in control go in front and stay ahead easy if you know how.

Common sesnse in plastering is a thing of the past.Bring back City & Guilds not a quick NVQ if the construction industry want to move forward.

Plastering is learned by qualified tradesmen over the years, if they have none of my last message those in plastering will struggle hence CS.

Get yourself prepped

Yes, but I'd rather get the graft done early, and the easy prep done in the afternoon.
You also normally get a bit of time while skimming to put a bit of scrim up etc.
If your in a big house and get a ceiling scrimed and a bead or 2 up every hit, it soon adds up.

Spread 95 & Dollar,
You are my type of guys.
Spit & Sawdust needs to listen up.
If he came in with me he would last half a morning and i am 60 in October.

None now had enough at 60, but on site used to do 2, if finished early enough sometimes I'd just throw a couple of straight walls on in the afternoon and put beads scrim up in between trowelling.
I’ve got a bit of flat bashing coming up, going to try and do 2 sets and prep then three sets and keep alternating
Bit of one coat thrown in on nice flat walls
I’ve been using the storm stuff if anyone’s interested it’s good stuff deffo works and doesn’t kick in straight away so gives you time to get youre set on and get it under control
I wouldn’t say it’s revolutionary dirty water would do the same but each to there own

I really need to get my head around these sachets especially the extra time ones really like the thought of prep and 1 decent gauge a day

I had a lad start as my labourer years ago who couldn't get his head around the fact I was only putting on 2 1/2 bags each hit. The guy he worked for previously would put on seven bags in the morning and spend the rest of the day trowelling it.
I asked what he was putting in the mix to kill it, he said "nothing", I told him he hadn't been paying enough attention.
