Got an outside to do, at the min it's to be rendered over, problem its soft, I would like to clean it off and restore the brickwork, hoping that as its weak it may be possible, any strategies guys

Do u want to keep the brickwork or just trying to get back to it so u can render it and your not to fussed about defacing the bricks

The client wants the brickwork ,I was not convinced its possible but am leaning that way, it's the front of a normal 2 storey in weybridge semi d

Think its as cassie said ,hammer and bolster ,rather u than me,or should I say rather your two mates than me:RpS_laugh:

I would carefully chisel it off mate, then use brick cleaner and jet wash, then repoint bricks... take a while, but depending on state of bricks will look nice..

will be mega time consuming
unless its mega mega soft render that can scrap off wont it be impossable to remove with out de-facing the brickwork
wat about the wall crete brick effect ?

why was the wall rendered for in the first place? because the brickwork has deteriorted or the pointing had failed and it is cheaper to render then repoint.
