Glancing / critical lighting or plastering issue?

Can anyone offer an opinion on the images below please? I realise that we have an issue with light hitting the walls but any opinion on the quality of the plastering? This is new plastering on a new project and is supposed to be a finished surface. These aren't isolated areas, this seems to be the general level of finish even in small rooms like the WC.
Thanks.

Is that a torch your shining down wall or does sun hit every wall

At what stage is a wall left to look like that? Let alone leaving it set

It still amazes me how some people can be so lacking in brain cells that they actually perform acts of vandalism like that and believe that they deserve to be paid.

How is it possible to have such an astonishingly low level of awareness? It's a wonder they can tie their own shoelaces!

That’s a skill in its self, to produce the moon finish Loooool, and shadow gap u want decent spreads with decent lighting on that sort of work. not the likes of riff raff like @Casper @Spudknit. I see more bad work on here then good, what’s happend to decent time served spreads, rare as hens teeth

With a glut of threads like this and the fact that the finish is very similar, there must be someone travelling the country trying to make "moon finish" the industry standard. :sorprendido3:
It’s a brummie finish ruff as badgers been taught the muzza’s finish

Any advice on what can be done about it other than start again?

IMO, that needs entirely re-plastering. Sorry to sound negative, but it's my honest opinion.

Could you improve it somewhat without re-plastering it entirely? Yes, with a few sacks of EasiFill and a hired giraffe sander:

....but the truth is that it's such a large area, it's daft to do it like that, and you're not going to get it as flat as a proper re-plastering job with proper plaster, by a competent professional plasterer.

Gotta be honest I think it’s ok in photos
Let’s remember there’s a lot of billy big balls on here who never post pictures of any work they done

I'd bet it looks completely different without the sun shining down it just look on here how many times this issue comes up it's every week I'm not saying it's good work post some more pictures when the light isn't shining down them that's the only way to judge it fairly

It does look better without light on it but is that really a fair and realistic way to judge it? There's always going to be light in a building and on walls at different times of the day. We were not expecting perfection but were also not expecting it to look like this.
